Will in Jungian psychology refers to the ego’s capacity to make conscious decisions and direct energy toward goals. It operates in tension with the unconscious, which may present opposing drives or insights.

Example:

Exploring the dynamic between will and unconscious impulses helps clients align their conscious goals with their deeper psyche. For example, addressing resistance to change might uncover unconscious fears that hinder the client’s progress.
