Definition:

Depression in Jungian psychology is often seen as a signal of unresolved inner conflicts or the loss of connection to one’s Self. It may arise when the ego is overwhelmed by unconscious material or when the individuation process is blocked.

Example:

Jungian analysis views depression as an opportunity for transformation. By exploring its roots, clients can reconnect with their inner purpose and move toward individuation. For example, a person feeling lost after a career setback might discover new meaning in creative pursuits.
